I’m so proud of you for running your race and truly getting after your goals. The one thing I want to be sure you’re armed with as you move forward are the keys to developing a winning digital presence.

As a Digital Marketing Strategist, even I get overwhelmed by the ever-changing landscape of the internet. One day while building a million-dollar digital campaign for my corporate clients I had an “aha” moment.


A winning digital presence is the great equalizer.

The same strategy that works for Fortune 500 companies can work for determined entrepreneurs and motivated nonprofits. I know you’re determined and motivated; otherwise, you wouldn’t be here, reading this, while simultaneously, ticking off your mental to-do list.

I’m sorry, was that a little too much truth serum? The reality is that now more than ever your brand needs a winning digital presence. I can’t tell you the number of women I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with who were just frustrated with the outcome of their businesses. They felt as if no one was supporting them. We all know sometimes the most difficult people to rally behind us are the people who are closest to us. Here’s a little secret – occasionally we have to step out of our comfort zones and share our product or service with an audience who may not be familiar. I know that can feel a little scary at first but if you take the leap, it may help your inner circle see the value you bring to the marketplace and that’s where the magic happens.

Gone are the days when you had to be a huge multimillion-dollar company to get the word out about your business. The internet has shifted the commerce world into a whole new ball game. Fortunately, digital marketing levels the playing field for us all. So, whether you’re a stay-at-home mom launching your gourmet cupcakes to-go or a nation-wide cupcake chain delivering hundreds of orders a day – you can reach billions of cupcake lovers (like me) with just the click of a button. That should put a smile on your face (also the thought of gourmet cupcakes just makes me happy).

2- Compelling digital content is critical.

Your audience is looking for captivating content to connect with you. Have you ever watched a movie trailer on the edge of your seat and immediately thought I can’t wait to see that? That’s compelling content! Aim to give your digital tribe the same feeling every time they experience a piece of your content - whether that’s through an email, social media post, IG (Instagram) Reel or your latest blog. Make sure they leave you anticipating the next interaction with your brand or business.

3- Consistency is key.

At the end of the day, you can have the most beautiful digital presence and breath-taking content but if there’s no consistency – it’s all for naught. As women, we all juggle so many responsibilities on a day-to-day basis. Who can survive without 20-time management apps on their smartphone? I know I can’t. Remember that keeping a routine for your digital presence is paramount to being truly effective. When your audience is looking to connect with you, you want your content to be there to meet them at their point of need the moment they need it.
